Mom Suzán
Female figures
owing the world
the word, “myth”
coming to mean,
“ a story”
falling just short
of factual accuracy
as a set of characters
already well aware
of when gods were men
while women read texts
like innumerable tellings
and re-tellings
of extraordinarily
secular epics
as grand self-expressions
both chosen and invested
in a city of interdependent
temples of unique assemblies
ending ultimately in, “a heaven”
that’s neither masculine
nor feminine without exception
then rising again ...
